Cortex Reaver 0.2: Smoother Admin and Faster Pages
Site, Ruby, and Cortex Reaver — Kyle Kingsbury has been busy pushing Cortex Reaver forward, with a slate of new features on the way.
Upcoming work includes an improved admin interface for long-running tasks, such as rebuilding photo sizes, plus fixes for several bugs in the CRUD lifecycle. Kingsbury is also refining the plugins/sidebar infrastructure, and a new stylesheet and JavaScript compiler is set to eliminate roughly 20 external HTTP requests in the non-cached case, significantly speeding up page loads.
Development has been slow-going between grad school and work, but with new users signing on, Kingsbury says the motivation to keep improving is strong.
