Cloudflare sets up regional leadership for Middle East and Turkey push
Cloudflare has named a new managing director for the Middle East and Turkey (MET), a region the company sees as a key growth market driven by a young population and accelerating digital transformation. The new regional head brings more than two decades of cybersecurity and software industry experience to the role.
The MET region is home to 13 countries with innovation-driven economies and a young demographic profile—about 70% of the population is under 30 years old. That age mix is fueling strong demand for content across gaming, entertainment, education, sports, and online retail, which in turn is driving rapid Internet adoption and accelerated digital transformation initiatives.
Several factors are converging to make the region a priority. Government-led digital transformation programs are reshaping several countries into digital economies, while cloud uptake has accelerated over the past few years. Regulatory frameworks and compliance policies are now in place to support wider enterprise cloud adoption. The recent pandemic added further momentum, increasing the urgency around digital transitions.
At the same time, cyber threats and breaches are rising across the region, positioning Cloudflare's security and content delivery capabilities as relevant for businesses and public sector organizations alike. The company's global network already spans 275 cities worldwide, with 27 data centers in the MET region; Cloudflare reports that more than 95% of customers receive the same connectivity at 50ms performance.
Regional expansion plans
Cloudflare is establishing its regional base in Dubai, with additional expansions planned. The existing 27 data centers across major MET cities are set to grow, including the recently announced Jeddah data center. The company expects demand in the region to rise and aims to position itself as the brand of choice for organizations seeking reliable, secure, and fast Internet services.
The product portfolio relevant to the region includes the Cloudflare One Zero Trust network-as-a-service platform, which connects users to enterprise resources with identity-based security controls, alongside the Cloudflare Workers developer platform. Recent platform announcements were covered during the company's Platform Week.

Leadership background
The new managing director previously served as Managing Director and Head of Sales for Emerging Markets at CyberRes, the cybersecurity line of business at MicroFocus, overseeing sales and business development across the Middle East, Africa, Brazil, Russia, CIS, and CEE. Before that, he was CEO of StarLink Value Added Distribution, managing an annual business of nearly $500 million across 22 countries. He has also held leadership positions at Symantec, BlueCoat, Fortinet, and CyberGuard.
The regional team will focus on building out operations, supporting customers, and attracting talent, with hiring efforts tied to the company's broader values around diversity, collaboration, and transparency.
