Cloudflare and Rackspace Deepen Partnership with New Managed Service Offerings

Cloudflare has expanded its worldwide reseller partnership with Rackspace Technology to include managed services built around Cloudflare's security, performance, and reliability products. The new offering, Cloudflare Security, Performance, and Reliability with Rackspace Managed Services, combines Cloudflare’s global network with Rackspace’s certified support teams for configuration, onboarding, and ongoing management.

The expansion follows Cloudflare’s broader push to grow its partner program for managed and professional service providers. Rackspace Technology holds Elite status in that program, and its engineers have now been trained specifically on Cloudflare feature sets and configuration in order to manage the platform alongside customers' Rackspace-hosted websites.

What the Managed Service Includes

Under the expanded partnership, Rackspace will provide a range of operational services for Cloudflare deployments:

  • Onboarding support for customers using Cloudflare Managed DNS, Content Delivery Network (CDN), Advanced DDoS Protection, and Web Application Firewall (WAF).
  • Configuration and consultation for additional products such as Bot Management, Load Balancing, Argo Smart Routing, Argo Tunnel, and Rate Limiting.
  • Ongoing management including incident triage, troubleshooting and diagnostics, allowlisting, cache and security settings, and access rules.
  • Review and management of Cloudflare Analytics and Logs to optimize feature performance.

Shared Visibility and Momentum

With more than 1 billion unique IP addresses passing through Cloudflare’s network daily, the company says its solutions providers can draw on real-world intelligence about internet communications and performance. Rackspace’s certified teams are now positioned to leverage that scope of information on behalf of shared customers, supporting internet presences that are secure and performant "with no tradeoffs," according to the announcement.

The two companies point to existing field engagement across all geographies as a foundation for the new phase. Cloudflare has also highlighted commentary from Lisa McLin, Rackspace Technology's VP of Alliances and Channel Chief, and notes that both organizations plan to continue exploring service expansion opportunities aligned with reducing complexity in internet security, performance, and reliability.
