Astound’s IPv6 Support Is Washington-Only

For anyone burning time on router debugging: ISP Astound only offers IPv6 support in Washington State. The company’s support page claims “Astound supports IPv6 in most locations,” but that wording doesn’t match reality outside Washington.

Tech support agents may tell you otherwise, even when you’re not in Washington. They might confirm support for both DHCPv6 and SLAAC and recommend a prefix delegation size of 60. If you’re watching tcpdump and see no responses to your router’s address requests, that’s the reason: v6 isn’t actually available to you.

In short, Astound’s v6 coverage is limited to Washington, regardless of what documentation or support staff indicate.
