Assess spam damage
This step is for sites that were hacked to host spam — for example, sites with the notice "This site may be hacked" shown in search results. Spam recovery is often the longest stretch of the cleanup process. The goal here is to compile a complete list of the harmed files so you can use it in the next phase, Clean and maintain your site.
