Micro-mentoring returns for GitHub Universe 2021
GitHub Universe goes virtual again this year on October 27-28, and GitHub Social Impact is running its micro-mentoring program ahead of the main event. Now in its third year, the program pairs conference attendees with GitHub employees for 30-minute, 1:1 sessions focused on career development—resume feedback, goal planning, and skill building. The aim is to make the conference more accessible and inclusive by giving participants direct access to industry experts for both personal and professional guidance.
Session logistics and how to apply
Sessions take place on Monday, October 25, 2021, between 7:00 am and 12:45 pm PT. Applications are submitted via this form and must be received by 12:00 pm PT on Monday, October 18, 2021. Applicants must be 18 or older. Slots are limited, and selected participants will be notified by email on Thursday, October 21, with confirmation of attendance due by Friday, October 22.

GitHub Social Impact is partnering with employees, community members, local nonprofits, and meetup groups to expand the experience for attendees. Applications are due by October 18. Registration for GitHub Universe opens October 14.
