web.dev now has a China-facing mirror
Google has launched a localized version of web.dev for developers in China. The full content library from web.dev is now mirrored at web.developers.google.cn, with all existing languages supported on the Chinese domain.
The move follows direct conversations with web teams at the 2023 I/O Connect event in Shanghai, where Google says it learned more about what engineers in the region need. Making the existing course and reference material easier to reach is the first step in that effort, according to the announcement.
What is actually available on the new domain is the same material that site already publishes. That includes the structured learning paths for HTML, CSS, and Performance, as well as documentation on Baseline and the curated content collections covering accessibility, Core Web Vitals, and Identity.
Alongside the web.dev announcement, the Chrome for Developers site is also launching the same localization at developer.chrome.google.cn.
