Baseline, demonstrated

Chrome Developer Relations has spent plenty of time discussing Baseline—which web interoperable features have arrived, and what tooling supports them. What has been missing is a practical look at how those features combine in real interfaces. A new series, Baseline in action, aims to close that gap.

Created with OddBird, the series pairs working demos with deep-dive articles on the features they use. Each demo is built around a specific user experience and shows multiple Baseline features working together—no compatibility workarounds required.

Three demos are available now:

  1. <dialog> and popover
  2. An image gallery using Baseline features
  3. Container queries and units

These are just the opening entries. OddBird and the Chrome team will continue adding articles and demos through the rest of 2025 and into 2026. The hope is that seeing these features in context makes it easier to adopt the ones that have reached Baseline.
