Payments: Smarter Checkouts and New Fraud Tools

Stripe's Optimized Checkout Suite now supports redirecting iOS app customers to a mobile checkout page powered by Stripe Checkout, which can save up to 90% in payment fees. Managed Payments, the merchant of record solution previously previewed, now extends to one-time and app-to-web payments, with Stripe handling tax compliance, fraud, disputes, checkout, and Link-based customer support. Klarna is now available on Link with Checkout and Payment Links, letting customers pay over time while you receive full payment upfront. Adaptive Pricing, now available via Stripe Connect, lets platforms offer automatic price localization across 150 markets with no additional Stripe fees.

The Payments Intelligence Suite gains several new capabilities. Authorization Boost now includes excessive retry and decline prevention features to lower card processing costs. New AI-powered Radar controls were previewed, including dynamic risk thresholds that adjust to changing fraud levels and customizable risk preferences. Radar rules for additional payment methods are coming, with Klarna support previewed and Affirm, Bacs, and Cash App support planned later this year. Smart Refunds now uses AI to proactively refund transactions likely to result in disputes, reducing your overall dispute rate.

For agentic commerce, Stripe and OpenAI have co-developed the Agentic Commerce Protocol (ACP), an open standard for making checkouts agent-ready by exposing products, pricing, and checkout flows in an agent-usable format. Shared Payment Tokens, also previewed, allow AI agents to pay with a customer's saved payment method while securely passing payment details and risk signals to businesses. This primitive powers Instant Checkout in ChatGPT.

Offline payments are now possible with Stripe Reader S710, which supports cellular connectivity. Stripe Orchestration was also previewed with the ability to instantly retry failed transactions with a different processor.

Revenue: Billing for the AI Era

Stripe Billing is being expanded to handle the unique needs of AI-powered offerings. Token billing, previewed for LLM usage, lets you route calls through Stripe's proxy API or partner proxies to track usage, apply markups, and bill customers automatically. New pricing plans support hybrid models combining rate cards, license fees, and credits. Dimensional pricing enables billing on multiple usage attributes—model type, data request size, speed of delivery—from a single meter. Real-time credit burn-down, low-balance alerts, and automatic top-ups were also previewed. The Meter Usage Analytics API provides real-time, aggregated usage data down to the customer level for trend analysis and customer dashboards.

Stripe Invoicing now accepts partial payments via the Dashboard and API. Data Pipeline exports can be customized to include only selected data and reports, with timestamps for data freshness visibility. Sigma and Data Pipeline are now available by subscription for more predictable costs. Stripe Tax is expanding into events and ticketing, with support for physical goods in 102 countries (up from 40) arriving early next year. Tax is now live in Mexico, with Gibraltar, Liechtenstein, and Malaysia forthcoming. Finally, embeddable Stripe sandboxes were previewed, letting AI platforms offer payments and financial services management directly within their environments.

Connect and Embedded Finance: Platform Controls

With over 15,000 SaaS platforms using Stripe to serve more than 10 million businesses, several new tools are aimed at platform operators. Stripe Verified for platforms, previewed for risk and compliance management, includes extending due dates for user verification tasks from the Dashboard. Configurable email notifications now alert you to upcoming, due, or past-due risk and compliance actions on connected accounts. Network cost passthrough, also previewed, lets platforms offer IC+ payments pricing to connected accounts, with a prebuilt reporting API for transparency into platform fees and network costs.

Embedded finance capabilities have also expanded. Onboarding to Stripe Capital and sending live capital offers now requires no engineering or marketing resources, taking under five minutes. Financial accounts can be extended with cash acceptance and cross-border payouts. A Capital promo tile component embeds financing offers within your platform's UI, and an Instant Payouts promotion component lets users make payouts and see available funds directly in your product.

Money Management: Centralized Finance

The money management features previewed at Sessions are now generally available via Financial Accounts for US businesses, with UK support coming soon. From the Dashboard, you can now view transactions entering your balance across currencies, reconcile payouts, and manage schedules. Currency conversion is instant and available 24/7. Financial Accounts allow you to operate locally without a local presence and move money across borders cheaply. Virtual and physical Mastercard cards and Global Payouts integrations let you manage expenses and send money anywhere in minutes. Accounting integrations with Xero and QuickBooks Sync by Acodei automatically import transactions for faster book closing.

Modular crypto infrastructure expands

Stripe's crypto stack is now organized around two products: Privy for digital asset management and Bridge for advanced stablecoin infrastructure. Together they cover embedded money storage across 200 markets and cheap, instantaneous fund movement across currencies, borders, and entities. At Stripe Tour New York, the company previewed several new capabilities across the stack.

Stablecoin payments and accounts

  • Subscription payments via stablecoins are in preview.
  • US businesses can now hold stablecoin balances in their Financial Accounts. Businesses in more than 100 other countries can request access to dollar-denominated stablecoin balances.
  • A fiat-to-crypto onramp is coming soon, letting users buy crypto directly from your app.

Bridge updates

  • Open Issuance will let you launch a custom stablecoin, choosing reserve allocation across managers like BlackRock, Fidelity Investments, and Superstate. Issued stablecoins can be made interoperable, allowing end customers to swap between them via instant, permissionless onchain transactions.
  • Local on and offramps are now available in Mexico for moving funds between dollars, pesos, and stablecoins through APIs; Brazil support was previewed.
  • Flexible liquidation addresses now accept deposits across multiple chains and currencies.
  • Stablecoin-backed Visa cards can be launched to customers in the US, Bolivia, Brazil, Ghana, and over 10 other countries across Latin America and Africa. Balances from custodial or noncustodial wallets can be spent anywhere Visa is accepted. Stripe Issuing uses the same infrastructure, extending its existing 22 fiat countries.
  • The Bridge dashboard now supports instant creation of virtual accounts, so customers can onramp funds using a unique bank account number via the new payments module.

Privy updates

  • Native gas sponsorship lets you pay all network fees on behalf of users through embedded wallets.
  • Account support now spans virtually any blockchain: all Ethereum, Solana, and Bitcoin chains, plus Cosmos, Movement, Near, Spark, Starknet, Stellar, and Ton.
  • Managed DeFi products via Morpho or Aave enable yield generation.
  • Advanced wallet policies can manage subscriptions, scheduled payments, automated portfolio rebalancing, and more.
