September Wallpapers: Fresh Designs for a New Month

As September approaches, it's time once again for a new collection of wallpapers. For over twelve years, our monthly series has invited artists and designers worldwide to take on a creative challenge purely for enjoyment — telling their own stories with the tools they love. This month’s selection for September 2023 is no exception, bringing together unique artwork created by the community, for the community.

Every design is available for free download in versions both with and without a September 2023 calendar. Click any image for a larger preview. We extend full creative freedom to all contributors — the themes of the wallpapers are chosen entirely by the artists themselves, uninfluenced by us. At the end of this post, you’ll also find a few timeless favorites from past September editions. And if you’d like to see your own work featured in an upcoming collection, we’re always on the lookout for creative talent.

Palette Of Autumn

Designed by Farhan Srambiyan from India. “The stunning transformation of nature during the fall season, with its rich hues and textures, served as a primary inspiration. Capturing the essence of autumn’s beauty in a digital format was a central goal.”

A Touch of Nostalgia

The second wallpaper from Ricardo Gimenes this month is called Made In China. This piece offers a stark contrast to the first, diving into a world of retro aesthetics and vintage charm. The preview below shows a design that is sure to resonate with those who appreciate a bit of classic style.

A Well-Deserved Break

National Lazy Mom's Day gets a fittingly relaxed treatment in this wallpaper by Storyville Tales from the United Kingdom. The design is a gentle reminder that taking a day off from chores and responsibilities is not just a luxury—it's a form of self-care.

"Because every now and then, we deserve the right to enjoy a lazy day! No chores, just a day to oneself."

From the Archives: September Favorites Worth Keeping

Not every wallpaper needs to be brand new. Some of the best September designs have been sitting in the archives for years, and they still hold up. The following picks come without a calendar, but they bring plenty of seasonal character: rainy-day illustrations, playful patterns, and a few creatures that make the transition into autumn a little easier.

Autumn Rains

Pop Art Studio from Serbia leans into the wet weather with a design that treats September showers as something to welcome rather than dread — as long as you have the right gear.
