Nuxt gains KV, ISR, and expanded Vercel support
Nuxt applications can now use Vercel KV, static and incremental rendering, and other platform features. The integration builds on existing support for Vercel Functions, Middleware, and Image Optimization.
Vercel KV through Nitro Storage
The Vercel KV durable Redis database is now accessible directly through Nitro, Nuxt's server engine. Configuration requires only a few lines in nuxt.config.ts, and Nuxt automatically picks up the KV_REST_API_URL and KV_REST_API_TOKEN environment variables. Once wired up, data can be stored from any event handler. A demo project and Nitro documentation are available for reference.
Static and ISR route rules
The Nitro 2.4 release adds route rules that let developers choose between fully static, fully dynamic, or incrementally updated pages. With these rules, each route can be assigned the rendering strategy that fits its data freshness requirements. A demo showing ISR with Nuxt is available to try.
