Generating an application: what happens before and after
The application section of the CYPEX Online Academy starts where installation and login end. Before the first app is generated, you pick queries and make visual adjustments, including color choices and CSS-related fixes. After generation, the app appears in the list, ready to be exported or imported.
The key detail is what an app actually is: the GUI is a JSON document describing the layout and the functionality. Downloading and uploading whole applications is therefore straightforward.
These JSON documents live inside the database. Data and application are consequently covered by the same backup — pg_basebackup, pg_dump, and the rest.
From zero to a working app
Two videos cover the creation process. The first is a quick-start 5-minute guide. The second is a full guided tour of a standard CYPEX application.
Both walk you through the important stages: default rendering, adding new pages, and adjusting elements on those new pages.
