Student streamers take over GitHub Campus TV

GitHub Education is expanding its GitHub Campus TV programming with the GitHub Education Stream Team (GEST), a student-led initiative bringing weekly live streams to the platform's Twitch channel. The shows span coding challenges, interview prep, talk shows, game shows, fireside chats, and more, with the goal of supporting emerging developers as they build skills, navigate the job market, and grow their networks.

The Campus DevRel Show with Yashovardhan Agrawal

Yashovardhan (Yash) Agrawal, APAC Hackathon Community Manager at Major League Hacking, hosts a weekly interactive stream introducing students to developer relations. Yash's own path into DevRel began with the Campus Experts Program, which led him to GitHub Universe and a community of DevRel practitioners. His show features guest speakers including Jonathan Gottfried, co-founder of Major League Hacking, and Juan Pa from GitHub.

In the first episode, John Britton discusses his transition from a history graduate to a DevRel founder and how students can use MLH opportunities to get an early start in the field. The Campus DevRel Show airs every Monday at 8 pm IST.

LatinXperts with Fernanda Monserrat Ramírez Ochoa

Fernanda, a Campus Expert committed to creating content for Spanish-speaking students, hosts LatinXperts for an audience of more than 20 million. The show features guest speakers, workshops, and demos, aiming to build an inclusive community. As Fernanda puts it, the goal is to "open borders, create inclusive spaces and demonstrate that talent has no language, color or geographical location," helping Latinx students discover trends, connect with international developers, and take advantage of GitHub programs. LatinXperts starts April 21 and runs every Tuesday at 7 pm GMT-6.

Security Shorts with Fenil Shah and Harish R.

Streaming from India, Fenil and Harish host a weekly cyber security talk show for viewers at any skill level. Each episode introduces new topics, breaks down weekly CTFs, and covers security updates—plus interviews with industry experts, internship advice, and AMAs. The hosts' motivation: to "have fun and gain insights about the current trends in cyber sec." The show premieres April 20.

Open Source with KhattakDev

Arsalan Dilawar, a Campus Expert, MLH Fellowship alum, and current team lead at MLH, hosts a Saturday show where he builds something new each week:

  • GitHub Actions and Apps
  • Web applications
  • CLI-based applications
  • Bots

Dilawar's goal is to "contribute back to the community" while building a mini open source community via GitHub. His show kicks off April 24 at 11 pm (GMT +5). Viewers can also find him on YouTube for tutorials on Visual Studio Code and JavaScript.

More shows on the way

GEST plans to add new streams continuously over the coming months. The full lineup includes 21 student streamers across 11 countries, with 16 shows rolling out over the next four months in five languages: English, Hindi, Portuguese, Spanish, and Arabic.
