DotSlash, an open source tool from Meta now available for wider use, addresses the friction of distributing binaries and toolchains to developers. Instead of checking large, platform-specific executables straight into a repository, the tool pairs a fast Rust program with a JSON manifest prefixed by a `#!` to transparently locate and run the needed binary.
