Vercel deepens WPP alliance with v0 and AI SDK
Vercel is expanding its partnership with agency network WPP, making v0 and the AI SDK available to creative teams across WPP's global footprint. The collaboration marks the first agency-wide deployment of these tools, letting designers and client-facing teams move from prompt to prototype without waiting on engineering.
The shift is intended to collapse the traditional handoff between design and development. With v0, non-developers in creative roles can generate and iterate on performant front-end experiences directly, only pulling in engineers once a concept is further along. WPP's internal pilots point to digital production timelines up to 25% faster, which in turn buys creative teams additional cycles for the work itself.
"The adoption of Vercel's AI-powered tools will dissolve the traditional boundaries between roles, enabling our teams to move from prompt to prototype at speed."
— Stephan Pretorius, WPP Chief Technology Officer
Early results across WPP agencies
Since the initial partnership began in early 2024, several WPP agencies have already seen concrete gains from adopting Vercel's stack with Next.js.
VML North America at Hydrow
Moving to a headless architecture on Next.js and Vercel helped the fitness brand Hydrow realize:
- 3,000% faster site updates
- 50% improvement in Core Web Vitals, taking the site from the bottom 25% to the top 25% of ecommerce performers
- Authoring time cut from weeks to minutes
AKQA's incremental architecture shift
For a global retail client, AKQA used a phased migration to Next.js and Vercel, rather than a full rewrite. Feature flags via Next.js Middleware let the client release new capabilities independently of deployments—a test-and-learn model that materially lowers rollout risk.
"AI is dissolving the boundaries between roles. We're seeing new product designers blend UX, UI, and code in one creative flow—thanks to tools like Vercel, v0, Uizard, and Cursor. Whether junior or senior leader, anyone can now build, test, and ship ideas independently—and that's not just efficient, it's liberating."
— Nicolas Le Pallec, CTO EMEA, AKQA
Ogilvy trims costs, lifts availability
Ogilvy used Next.js and Vercel to bring content closer to global customers while cutting maintenance overhead. For a recent client engagement, Ogilvy achieved up to 30% cost reduction while sustaining availability in the high 90s.
Shared roadmap and community events
The expanded partnership grants WPP priority access to new Vercel releases, plus a shared commitment to co-develop integrations and innovations within WPP Open, the group's AI-enabled marketing platform.
That collaboration extends to events like the WPP x Vercel AI Generative CX Hackathon in March 2025, which brought together 18 teams from nine agencies across four continents. Participants moved from concept to working prototypes in minutes. AKQA London took Most Creative Hack for AiCandy, a concept pairing GenAI with 3D ecommerce for personalized luxury chocolates. VML, Arctouch, and AKQA EU also submitted concepts built on v0 and the AI SDK.
Smaller teams, shorter cycles
The broader trend behind the alliance: what previously required months and large cross-functional teams can now be handled in days by a smaller group. For agencies, whose value rests on turning audience insight into story, design, and code, that compression changes both the creative workflow and the economics of production.
