Figma’s design files become direct input for ServiceNow’s AI builder

ServiceNow and Figma have announced a partnership that lets Figma designs drive application generation on ServiceNow’s AI platform. The headline feature is new support for the Figma Model Context Protocol (MCP) server in ServiceNow’s Build Agent: a developer can paste a Figma design link as a prompt, and the agent turns it into a deployable enterprise application.

For the first time, a Figma file can act as a direct prompt in ServiceNow’s integrated development environment. The Build Agent interprets the design’s layouts, components, and styles to generate a working app. Because the Figma MCP server exposes structure rather than a flat image, the agent sees component hierarchies, style definitions, and layout details, which helps preserve fidelity when translating design into code.

From design sprint to enterprise app

The integration is meant to close the gap between early-stage prototypes and production-grade systems. ServiceNow says teams can move from design to a functioning application in minutes, with the platform’s governance, automation, and data layers applied to the generated code. Early tests indicate that combining the Build Agent with Figma’s MCP server can cut initial UI and data model implementation time by more than 80 percent.

Figma’s chief technology officer, Kris Rasmussen, framed design as the product differentiator in an AI-driven development world. “This MCP integration brings important Figma design context directly into ServiceNow’s AI workflows to help teams efficiently build high-quality, differentiated enterprise products.”

Security and governance inherited from the platform

The two companies describe the connection as governed by an enterprise-grade security framework. It relies on OAuth 2.0 authentication and secure server-to-server communication. Access tokens are stored inside the customer’s ServiceNow instance, and every application generated by the Build Agent inherits ServiceNow’s built-in permissions, audit trails, and version control.
