39 teams, one demo day: inside the 2026 AI Accelerator
On April 16th, 39 teams presented to investors and AI leaders at Vercel’s AI Accelerator Demo Day, capping off a six-week program where founders worked with Vercel, partners, and industry experts to build and refine AI applications. The cohort spanned agents, developer tools, consumer apps, and vertical AI across finance, security, healthcare, and robotics.
Throughout the program, teams attended two weekly sessions: a hands-on technical workshop and a fireside chat with external speakers. Workshops covered the practical side of building AI products, from agent design and model selection to deployment and scaling. Fireside chats brought in speakers such as Peter Steinberger (OpenAI/OpenClaw) and the Windsurf team, touching on the state of AI, pricing, legal, sales, marketing, and fundraising.
Builder Day and partner credits
Halfway through, the cohort joined the broader Vercel startup ecosystem at Builder Day in Vercel’s San Francisco office. The event combined technical workshops, office hours with engineers from partners like AWS and Anthropic, open building time, and a fireside chat between Vercel CTO Malte Ubl and Paper CEO Stephen Haney.
Each team received over $200K in credits for building across the Vercel AI stack and partner services. That included access to AI Gateway, Sandbox, Workflows, Fluid Compute, v0, and offerings from AWS, Anthropic, OpenAI, Browserbase, ElevenLabs, Auth0, WorkOS, Notion, Modal, Neon, and Supabase.
Demo Day winners
At Demo Day, hosted by Auth0, teams had a few minutes each to pitch a room of VCs, AI leaders, and partners. Judges scored on problem validity, technology fit, product quality, and the final pitch. Three teams won $100K+ in credits and prizes, with first place also receiving an investment from Vercel Ventures.
1st: Rex — AI for the enterprise finance back office, unifying customer context so agents can run accounts receivable end to end. Founded by Merlin Kafka and Lewis Blackwood.
2nd: Hacktron AI — An AI security teammate that integrates into the development lifecycle to find and remediate exploitable vulnerabilities, tackling the risk that comes with AI-generated code. Founded by Zayne Zhang, Mohan Pedhapati, and Harsh Jaiswal.
3rd: Roots — A platform rebuilding how people buy and sell homes. Buyers save hundreds to thousands of dollars a month, while sellers net more at closing. Founded by Lauren Self and David Golovin.
Momentum beyond the program
The previous cohort’s 40 alumni have raised over $100M in venture funding, with several accepted into Y Combinator. Stably, the 2025 winner, is converting enterprise pilots into contracts and shipping new product lines in hours rather than weeks. Past participants like Jigsaw Stack, Belli AI, and General Translation have also signed enterprise customers and formed partnerships through the program.
